CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER TO CAPTURE YOUR PERFECT DAY IS A VERY IMPORTANT TASK.
WE HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING AND WORKING WITH A VARIETY OF REPUTABLE AND
ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOOKING INTO THE PORTFOLIOS OF SOME OF THESE PHOTOGRAPHERS AS YOU
WILL SEE THERE IS A GOOD SELECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLES TO CHOOSE FROM AS WELL AS PRICE RANGES
HOWEVER EACH ONE OF THEM IS RELIABLE AND YOUR CHERISHED WEDDING MEMORRIES
WOULD BE IN SAFE HANDS.
I LIKE TO GET INTO THE HEADSPACE OF MY CLIENTS AND CREATE IMAGES WHICH TELL THEIR UNIQUE STORY.
PART OF THE REASON I GOT INTO PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS IS BECAUSE I LOVE TO SHOOT IN A PHOTOJOURNALISTIC STYLE WHERE THE AIM IS TO PHOTOGRAPH REAL UNSCRIPTED MOMENTS.ON THE FLIPSIDE I ALSO ENJOY THE OPPORTUNITY WEDDINGS OFFER TO TAKE CREATIVE NARRATIVE PORTRAITS OF PEOPLE. I ALWAYS SEARCH FOR THE BEAUTY WITHIN PEOPLE, THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING BEHINDTHEIR EYES WHICH MAKE THEM WHO THEY ARE. I TRY TO SHOW THIS IN MY PICTURES. THIS TAKES TIME AND IT TAKES A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF PEOPLE SO I LIKE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CLIENTS. I AM ALWAYS AT A WEDDING FOR AT LEAST 10 HOURS AND WE CHAT ALOT BEFORE HAND.

I am a freelance photographer based in Cape Town and I travel all over the world to capture portraits and weddings.
Born in the UK, I fell into professional photography by chance. Always into the arts, I knew that one day I would end up working creatively, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly and so unexpectedly. Leaving London to explore the world, I bought my first camera. My travels lead me to my Mum's home of South Africa, where I took up photography professionally. Everyday this career inspires me, challenges me and encourages me to better myself.
I love people, new experiences and interpreting situations and moments through my lens.
I hope you enjoy my work and I'd love to hear from you.

"I love my job and am loving it more as time goes on- every year I find new inspiration. I specialise in weddings as I enjoy the interaction with our clients and am extremely good at capturing those special moments that happen on the day from me not interfering or directing. I love using the surroundings and get inspired by a new venue or photoshoot location. After 14 years of photographing weddings you would think that you have seen it all but every wedding is different and every couple is different. I have to adapt to each couple and each venue. This doesn’t even take into account the weather! God loves to keep me on my toes and sometimes presents a lovely blue sky while other times it rains the whole day but he has given me the skills anyway so I know I can always cope."

Two constants in my life have been the desire to create and the need to preserve; photography was a natural calling for me.
For me the most important thing when it comes to photography is capturing real moments. I want to capture you looking nervous or being silly, laughing hysterically.
That's the magic. looking back at a photograph and knowing exactly what you were feeling in that moment.
I want to be there to capture those moments without you knowing. My style is not in your face. I try not direct you, or pose you. After all its your big day, not mine.
So head over to www.lucaphotography.co.za and if you like what you see lets meet up and have a chat. I would love to hear how you would like to remember your day.
I love the quiet moments, the heartfelt moments, the tears, the excitement and the joy. That is why I do this. I always know the order of events in advance, but I never know how emotional the groom is going to get when his bride is walking down the aisle, I never know if a lost loved one is going to get mentioned during a speech or that special moment when a proud father sees his precious daughter in her beautiful wedding dress. I am there to tell that story, the story of the day you make a promise to your partner while the people who you love celebrate with you. The sights, the colours, the atmosphere and the ambiance. I try and capture this with as little interference as possible.
Let’s begin a conversation. Tell me about the photos you love, tell me about your colour scheme and the things that are going to make your wedding day unique. Tell me about your dress. Tell me about your vision and what’s important to you. Tell me anything. Let’s meet for coffee, I’ll show you some wedding albums. It’ll be an honour to create some art together.
